Dear Diary,
I am your friend. I will share with you my musings, my “Ah-Ha” moments, my hopes, my missteps, my imagination, my stresses, my humor, and ridiculous situations I find myself embroiled in because you have walked into my Diary. Welcome and enter at your own risk, but hopefully, you will be able to walk away with something of value to you. For that is what it is all about; sharing and caring for each other on the bumpy journey that we have together.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Today is a new day. Begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered by your old nonsense.” I love this motto, but many times it is necessary to sort through the old nonsense in order to get it out of your way. And let’s be honest, that stuff can be pretty interesting and stubborn too. However, the goal is to approach each day with an excellent attitude. This is not always possible, but we can certainly work at it. After all, who really enjoys being grumpy anyway? If you notice, Mr. Emerson is telling us to not be encumbered by your old nonsense. This indicates that it is our own decision not to be bothered by our own nonsense. You know sometime during your day you will be dealing with someone else’s nonsense so why give yourself some too? It is a goal of course, not an everyday reality. I am sure that even Mr. Emerson had his days where he woke up with a scowl on his face. But being aware is the first step. Be aware that it is up to you how you are going to approach your day.

Well look at you, girl!
I spent my time trying to get smarter! I missed you this weekend. Sounds like it was very fun!
Hi Kellianne –
Glad to see you writing and proud of you on your first blog post. Let me tell you something about serious people that I’ve discovered through business and life. Most serious people totally bore the heck out of me. Here’s why. I love being serious when the timing calls for it. But hey, people who are serious all the time are fooling them selves. Through the years they start to believe their own BS. They’re serious about the Green initiative as long as others and corporations do the work. Don’t get all serious to me about the Green movement when your hot tub, swimming pool, and 3 cars don’t jive with your lingo. Ya dig? I’d rather laugh and help others to play a little bit also. I get serious when I need to be and no other time. I love your first post and kudos to you #HighFive :).
Brian
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means even more because I love the way you write. Your sense of humor always keeps me smiling. I thank you for that too. ๐
Yay, Kellianne. I love the quote and try to live by it. Can’t wait to read more. โค Krystal
Thank you Krystal! I am glad to be sharing. Your enthusiasm means a lot to me because I really enjoy your blog as well. You inspired me to jump into blogging. ๐
Yay blog! I love your approach! So excited to see more!
Thank you Ashley! I really appreciate your enthusiasm!
I say bravo, to a good start. I like it pretty well!
Especially your opinions on that quote.
Thank you for stopping by and your comment, Gina! Your opinion matters to me.
Blogging is truly a rewarding experience. It’s an excellent way to sort out your own nonsense! ;p Best of luck; you seem to be headed in the right direction!
Thank you for your encouragement. There will certainly be more nonsense addressed here!
Okay, I give. You can write all my blogs from now on, too ๐ Nicely done, Kellianne. I am signing up for email subscription next. I have also liked (joined?) on Facebook. Let me know what else I can do to support your efforts…though, from the long list of comments by really great people, I’d say you’re off to an amazing start ๐
Haha! What an excellent compliment! Thank you very much for joining and for your prolific retweeting. I self published my first novel in June and then jumped into the whole social media parade afterwards. I had a facebook account before that, but everything else is new to me. Writing comes naturally to me but internet marketing has been challenging to learn. (My post for tomorrow will address that!) I’ve been trying to teach myself and then gather advice from nice people that I’ve been meeting along the way. I seem to be making progress and I thank you for your assistance there. I know there is so much more to learn! Now that I have established the blogging step, I think the next things I need to figure out is a book trailer and some sort of interviews. Onward….
Welcome to the blogosphere, Kellianne! I share your sentiments and that of Mr. Emerson ๐
Hey Derek! Happy to see that you had time to meander on over here in the midst of your busy schedule! Thank you and don’t work too hard ๐ We need Emerson in our #coffeeclub. Well, why not? We got Kerrygold in there!
